My Story

I have been lucky enough to have grown up with physical activity and health as a way of life. From a young age I was involved in Calisthenics, Athletics and Tennis. Then I also added Touch Football, AFL and Volleyball to the mix throughout high school.

My dad, who used to play professional AFL for the Western Bulldogs, was a huge part of my sporting background, encouraging me to give everything a go and coaching me between the various sports I was involved with. My mum, also a huge part of my healthy childhood, made sure I made it to every training session, rehearsal, concert, representative event… you name it! She was always cheering from the sidelines and offering me words of support and positivity when needed.

With so much involvement in sports it was an easy decision for me to study Human Movement Science straight after high school. I chose this with the hopes to move into Physio, but quickly realised that after completing my Bachelor degree I needed a break. This break lead me into the world of Fashion and Retail, igniting and serving my creative side. Having worked for small family run businesses, to large corporations like Billabong and Surf Dive n Ski, the 6 year break I took from completing my studies, gave me the skills and understandings of the business world. It also regularly taught me the importance of a balanced lifestyle, which, let’s face it, is bloody hard to keep on top of in our fast paced culture!

During the time I studied and then later on in life within my full time roles, I experienced several burnouts. Learning quickly that burning the candle at both ends does not serve anyone, especially you!

I have also struggled with anxiety and depression, have lost and put on a lot of weight in a short period of time, jumped from job to job trying to figure out my place in the world. I have earned a heap of money but was miserable in my job, then was barely able to earn enough to pay bills. I have had some great and not so great relationships…. All of which I’m sure you (or someone you know) have experienced to some extent or another at some point in your life.

We are all very similar in so many ways, I want to break the taboo of these lifestyle factors not needing to be talked about openly. Confide in me and I will give you suggestions based on real experience. It is a daily practice for me to find balance in the health pillars I feel are extremely important and contribute to keeping me grounded, focused, happy and healthy. Let me share these with you...
